The website was developed as an evolution of a previous version based on WordPress. During the initial phase, we migrated all content and configured the new instance to support the localisation of content in multiple languages. We then created a new theme, starting from a neutral, responsive template, to obtain the look and feel desired by the client following their subsequent iteration and feedback.
At ELbuild, we took care of the design phase of the entire system and developed every single component, including a series of dedicated plugins designed to improve the performance of the search function and presentation of the content.
Compared to implementing an equivalent solution from scratch, the choice to start with WordPress was made by virtue of guaranteeing a solution delivered in a reasonable timeframe that can be easily managed independently by the client.
The website is hosted on an EC2 instance and leverages a Cloudfront CDN for static content to improve performance in emerging markets such as China and the United Arab Emirates.
