Access Firenze, a customisable offline map of Florence
Native App, Java Android, Objective-C iOS,
HTTP REST API written in PHP (YII framework), on CentOS server.
WordPress
An app featuring a customisable offline map and a filterable list of points of interest aimed at tourists visiting Florence.
Access Firenze is a project created for SkillEvo s.r.l. as one of the best offline maps of Florence on the app stores.
We created the entire source format for the offline map starting from a single vector image and integrating a tiling manager based on MapBox, an open source library for creating and customising custom offline maps.
The app contains a list of basic points of interest divided into about 20 categories, which can be expanded through customisation codes. Additional information is available for many points of interest, intended to guide tourists and make their stay in Florence easier and more enjoyable.
The app works completely offline, and so it can also be used by tourists who have not signed up for an international data plan.
The app is developed with native technologies on both iOS and Android. The very simple and linear user interface was entirely developed by ELbuild, together with the logo and the graphic design. Even the backend, consisting of a single REST API for downloading additional POIs, has been designed and built internally using PHP and the Yii framework.
