MariaDB
MariaDB is a relational database established from a fork of MySQL. The same creators developed it with the aim of providing completely open technology featuring the same characteristics.
When do we use MariaDB?
An alternative to MySQLMariaDB can be used as alternative storage to MySQL. The characteristics of the two systems are similar, and the choice of the hosting environment mainly dictates the use of one or the other. As in the case of MySQL, MariaDB provides a secure and high-performance system that is suitable for a large proportion of web projects. Alternatively, based on the characteristics of the project, the selection can fall on higher performing databases such as PostgreSQL or non-relational databases such as Mongo DB.
